First Kiss-Photo Story

This photo is Circa 1940s-Nubble Lighthouse-York, Maine, the location of my mother’s first kiss. Her stories of Maine included a 2 day drive from Long Island via the Merritt Parkway at a speed limit of 30mph.  She and her extended family would frequent the Goldenrod soda fountain, also known for its saltwater taffy. Her summers in Maine were a very important tradition because she was an only child and had lost her mother at a very young age. She also passed on this yearly tradition to her 3 children, up the coast in Fortunes Rocks, Maine.  SwickPix Storytellers are saving family memories one photo at a time. #scanning #photoorganizing #goldenrod #nubblelight
